This ground floor room was a laundry area until 1902 when it was designated as a "Gentlemen’s Ante-Room" during Theodore Roosevelt's renovations. In 1935 it was remodeled as a library. Today, a committee selects works representative of a range of American thought and literature for the use of the First Family and their staff.
