The President and President-Elect meet at the White House
On Tuesday, November 11, 2008, President George Bush and Mrs. Bush greeted President-Elect Barack Obama and Michelle Obama at the White House. The Obamas arrived in a motorcade and were welcomed by the Bushes on the south side of the White House. President-Elect Obama and President Bush met while Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Bush toured the White House. A visit by the president-elect to the White House after the election has become a tradition in the U.S.
